The documentary “LIFE MareNatura – Protecting Marine Life in a Changing World” premiered to a full house on November 13, 2025, at the French Institute of Greece, as part of the Science Festival “The Voice of the Ocean.” Organized by MEDASSET / Mediterranean Association to Save the Sea Turtles, the event brought together researchers, project partners, environmental professionals, and ocean advocates for an inspiring evening celebrating the Mediterranean—and confronting the urgent challenges it faces.

Introduced by film critic Giannis Kantea-Papadopoulos and featuring the presence of director Roberto Lo Monaco, the premiere sparked a lively discussion with the audience on marine biodiversity conservation and collective action in the Mediterranean.

Project partners — HCMR, NECCA, University of the Aegean, University of Crete – Natural History Museum of Crete, National Observatory of Athens, Hellenic Ornithological Society, MOm / The Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of the Monk Seal, ARCHELON, NCC , Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, WaterProof Marine Consultancy & Services BV, as well as the external policy partner The Green Tank — shared their perspectives, achievements, and commitment to the LIFE MareNatura vision.

Following this successful world premiere, the documentary is now beginning its international festival journey, carrying LIFE MareNatura’s message of marine conservation to audiences worldwide, ahead of its public release.
